Losing a character during line break at a hyphen
Not sure whether this is a ligature problem or a hyphenation problem or both! In the following MWE, the line breaks at the hyphen following "Diffe", but one of the f's is lost so the PDF shows "Dife-". Latest LMTX, version 2021.08.19 19:48 \starttext Twenty years after receiving it as a Christmas present, I have finally got around to reading The Code Book by Simon Singh. Written in 1999, when E-commerce was still relatively new, the book provides accessible explanations of the workings of Diffe-Hellman-Merkle key exchange, and Rivest, Shamir and Adleman (RSA) public-key cryptography. \stoptext Output PDF attached. — Bruce Horrocks Hampshire, UK
List,
I can confirm that this is also an issue for me with LMTX-20210819;
"off" is typeset as "of". Is this an problem with ligatures?
Best, Richard

Smaller MWE - it's not hyphenation: \starttext Diffe \stoptext gives "Dife". — Bruce Horrocks Hampshire, UK ______________________________________________________________________ _____________ If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to the Wiki! maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://context.aanhet.net archive : https://bitbucket.org/phg/context-mirror/commits/ wiki : http://contextgarden.net ______________________________________________________________________ _____________

gives "Dife".
if you're in a hurry you can patch font-ots.lmt, line 922 ligature = ligature.ligature else ligature = ligature.ligature end and remake the format ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | www.pragma-ade.nl | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------
