Records management systems prefer to receive their PDFs compliant with the PDF/A standard (subset of PDF 1.4). Is there any mechanism in ConTeXt/pdfTex to specify the PDF output should comply with PDF/A? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PDF/A Thanks, Mike

The pdf that pdftex produces is quit esimple and conforms to pdf/x. However, includes images as well as using special features can make the document less compliant (think of special color spaces, annotations and such). Of course we have no control over included images which are black boxes to pdftex. There is no single switch. PDF/A-1b is doable, -1a probably needs future extensions in the engine (tagged pdf). Both need other software to check the images. Best Martin PS: Please wrap your lines.
