Hi, I have two questions: 1) In the metafun manual I found (p 57 in the version I browse) a setting drawpathoptions. I tried with \startMPpage drawpathoptions(withcolor darkred); path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw p; \stopMPpage but the result turned out to be black. Isn't drawpathoptions available anymore, or do I misuse it? 2) If I run the code below \startMPpage drawoptions(withcolor darkred); path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw image ( draw p; draw p xshifted 2cm withcolor darkyellow; ); \stopMPpage everything gets dark red. Can I somehow change the color inside an image after setting a default color with drawoptions? If I do \startMPpage drawoptions(withcolor darkred); path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw p; draw p xshifted 2cm withcolor darkyellow; \stopMPpage I get the expected result (i.e. one darkred and one darkyellow path), but I want to use an image. /Mikael

Hi,
I have two questions:
1) In the metafun manual I found (p 57 in the version I browse) a setting drawpathoptions.
I tried with
\startMPpage drawpathoptions(withcolor darkred); path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw p; \stopMPpage
but the result turned out to be black. Isn't drawpathoptions available anymore, or do I misuse it?
2) If I run the code below
\startMPpage drawoptions(withcolor darkred); path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw image ( draw p; draw p xshifted 2cm withcolor darkyellow; ); \stopMPpage
everything gets dark red. Can I somehow change the color inside an image after setting a default color with drawoptions? If I do
\startMPpage drawoptions(withcolor darkred); path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw p; draw p xshifted 2cm withcolor darkyellow; \stopMPpage
I get the expected result (i.e. one darkred and one darkyellow path), but I want to use an image.
/Mikael
Noone? Can someone confirm the "problem"? Best regards, Mikael

these options are for tracing macros, e.g. drawpath

define what you mean with 'image' (or give an example)

Thank you for your reply, Hans. This is what I mean with an image (this is admittedly a small example) \startMPpage drawoptions(withcolor darkred); path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw image ( draw p; draw p xshifted 2cm withcolor darkyellow; ); \stopMPpage This gives me two red paths (result attached). I would like the right one to be darkyellow. /Mikael

image create a picture that is then drawn with 'draw' at which time the drawoptions are applied, like this: \startMPpage drawoptions(withcolor darkred); path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); picture q ; q := image ( draw p; draw p xshifted 2cm withcolor darkyellow; ); draw q withcolor darkgreen ; \stopMPpage You can try this: \startMPpage property prp ; prp := properties (withcolor darkred) ; path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw image ( draw p withproperties prp ; draw p xshifted 2cm withcolor darkyellow; ); \stopMPpage ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | www.pragma-ade.nl | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------

You can try this:
\startMPpage property prp ; prp := properties (withcolor darkred) ; path p; p:= (0,0)--(1cm,1cm)--(1cm,0)--(0,1cm); draw image ( draw p withproperties prp ; draw p xshifted 2cm withcolor darkyellow; ); \stopMPpage

Thanks again for you reply, Hans. That confirms somehow that I cannot do as I was hoping to. I was thinking in setting a default color \startMPinitializations drawoptions(withcolor darkred); \stopMPinitializations since the document I write has about 50 graphics, and most of it will be in a certain color. But I will simply not set a default color and use withcolor (or withproperties, since I guess they can hold more settings like dashing and so on) manually in each figure. /Mikael
