Hans, I have the following sample: \starttext \dorecurse{25}{This is a sentence\footnote{And this is a footnote}. } \startitemize[n, columns, three, packed] \dorecurse{25}{\item This is an item} \stopitemize \input{zapf}\footnote{This is a footnote} \startitemize[n, columns, two] \dorecurse{15}{\item This is an item} \stopitemize \stoptext The body text runs in the footnote area, as some of us have already reported. I know that avoiding lists (especially when they contain columns) would mitigate the problem. But some of my documents need both multiple-column lists and footnotes. Would it be possible that main text never runs in the footnote area? Many thanks for your help, Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk
