Fwd: [dante-ev] Kooperation mit der PDF Association
Hello ConTeXt group activists! DANTE just became a partner organization of PDF association, see message below. Wouldn’t it make sense for our group (and NTG and TUG etc.) to do the same? Best regards, Hraban
Liebe Mitglieder,

I suppose that Dante, the largest tex user group being around, being a member of that group means that the rest of the user groups can save themselves the trouble and money ... for the few users who need that kind of info (and we can assume that all standard related pdf stuff is public anyway) it's cheaper to become member of dante (in fact, being member of a few tex user groups costs less than an individual membership of the association). Afaik that was the idea behind Dante being related. The website says: "Non-profit organizations can become members without charge as Partner Organizations." So maybe the ConTeXt Group could indeed apply for membership? If we would have to pay the fee, there is no way we could afford it anyway. Mojca
I suppose that it is fine that Dante is a member of that association. We will lift on their possibilities to fetch info and being involved with it. I think, that the ConTeXt group as such has little to profit from a membership… Best wishes Willi

Also the PDFA is mostly german. And any TeX developer who wants to work on PDF standardisation with the PDFA is welcome, even if (s)he is not a member of DANTE. Best Martin
