Hey Patrick, all, I like the wiki a lot. Thanks for getting it going! It's a nice, quick way to get hints out there. As a result, I wrote up a little font-usage hack that wasn't quite big enough for a MyWay, but that I wanted to share with folks: http://members.ping.de:8062/context/show/FlexiFace But enough of the self-promotion ;) There's a lot of good stuff up there. adam -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Adam T. interesting, the last time i had to combine fonts i made a mental note to discuss this on the list and ask for a volunteer -) if you're happy with type-flx (we can make a synonym btw) we can add it to the distribution; but only when the dimensions are frozen since it influences line breaking; you can play with : \setuptypeface[flex][default=rm] -) Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, sounds good. I would really appreciate having some other people try it out and comment before freezing it. The sanserifs, in particular, need more optical than mathematical matching.
you can play with : \setuptypeface[flex][default=rm] -)
Oh yeah. I remember that. Yeah, I'll try that. :) -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Adam T. indeed; (btw, your numbers suggest calculations, normally i stick to .05 steps); an option is to have some clever rscale=flexscaled{xx} mechanism which permits up/down rounding, but that's for later; btw, in the latest example suite (cont-exa.tex) there is a fonttest interface to play with (probably went unnoticed) Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, no synonym needed for my part (not deployed in a major project). Are you happy with the approach? Do you reckon the 5.16667pt and 6.0pt x- height will be sufficient? (Lucida in particular is shrunk very significantly, but then Lucida is an exception anyway.) adam -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Adam T.
