If this has something to do with OpenGL, a properly built asymptote might solve the problem.

I'm using on windows the cygwin binary provided by the Asymptote developers: http://asymptote.sourceforge.net/ The binary is included in TeX Live 2017 for windows. context ntg71.tex works fine. Akira
