What is the meaning of `\start`

Hi, in some examples I have found `\start` and `\stop`. What are they exactly? Just like `\begingroup` `\endgroup`? Or is there something else? Best, Denis

They are equivalent to `\bgroup` and `\egroup`. You can also use `\start[whatever]` to get \startwhatever (which is sometimes useful) Aditya
