For some reason running mkiv-beta needs the presence of a file ..tex/context/user/type-loc.tex If I remove the file I get a complaint of not being able to find this file. Is the file absolutely required or could it be some remnant in some cache that causes the request? Hans van der Meer

it does not need it but load its when present (same for cont-loc) Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------

Could be, but in my case I get an error when type-loc.tex is not present. Contradicts your statement that its absence will be ignored. Could it be the fact it was there once, that context insists on reading it thereafter? my version is:ConTeXt ver: 2010.01.26 18:39 MKIV fmt: 2010.2.1 int: english/english Hans van der Meer

not that i know of .. can others confirm this problem? (normally misscing typesacript files are not fatal errors at all) ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------

I can confirm the problem. The solution is easy: "luatools --generate" Cheers, Peter -- Contact information: http://pmrb.free.fr/contact/
Peter Münster is right: after "luatools --generate" context stops asking for a non-existent type-loc.tex. I hope the next beta will remove the need to call "luatools --generate" each time one feels it necessary to remove type-loc.tex. Hans van der Meer On 20 feb 2010, at 08:20, Peter Münster wrote:

well, after each update one needs to run "luatools --generate" as there can be new files; if a file is found in the database but not on disk or the reverse you have a problem afaik the minimal updater does regenerate the database btw, remaking the file dsatabase has always been a neccessity (also for mkii or actually al tex cases ... mktexlsr cq. luatoosl --generate) Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------
I can not confirm this problem. In my minimals-installation (2010.02.17) there is no type-loc.tex Willi On Feb 19, 2010, at 11:03 PM, Hans Hagen wrote:
