further to the single image across two page spread

After sending my previous email, I realised that my own attempt could be quite misleading, since there I was using two separate images across facing pages. I was simply trying to get the two images to 'marry' across the divide! But that is not my problem, since what I need to do is to get the one image (a suitable landscape image I might add) to run seamlessly across a two-page spread (which is what the LaTeX example I gave does). Sorry for any confusion, Julian
