Hans, I’m afraid that the last beta (from today) introduced a bug that prevents heads to be generated with indices. The minimal sample: \starttext \index{æ}ae \chapter{Index place} \placeindex %~ \completeindex \stoptext It doesn’t work either with \placeindex or \completeindex.
