if it looks as it looks here, it looks strange, but it is ok. :-) my png from xpdf shows an horrible page (also acroread and mupdf show the same). What are the values for a normal apparence ?

here it looks as attached, maybe you still have the unpatched one? extend=1, slant=0 would be the normal font. extend=0.3 (or maybe 0.2) is good for legalese. Regards, Hartmut
