Hey list, I'm finding that when I change the formatting for some words to \it, the first letter following the ending of that formatting seems to be too close to the last italicized character. Is there any way to increase this? -- Kip Warner -- Software Engineer OpenPGP encrypted/signed mail preferred http://www.thevertigo.com

Use “… {\em …} …”. When you use Latin Modern you change the slanted style for \em to italic with “\setupbodyfontenvironment[default][em=italic]”. Wolfgang

Hey Wolfgang. I am using that style of inline syntax already, and whether it's \em or \it in the braces, it's the same spacing effect at the end of the content in the braces. e.g. "This ensures that there is no {\em known} life on the {\it surface} of Mars." After the "known" and the "surface" words, there is not very much white space separating them from the following word. -- Kip Warner -- Software Engineer OpenPGP encrypted/signed mail preferred http://www.thevertigo.com
