Hello,
with the recent version (2005.11.30), I get a strange font in dvips output,
when using \sc.
dvips messages don't show any error:
This is dvips(k) 5.95a Copyright 2005 Radical Eye Software (www.radicaleye.com)
' TeX output 2005.11.30:2115' -> test.ps

uses ec-lm.enc (which is no longer part of the lm distribution, but my guess is that dvips does not complain)
Here my test-file: \starttext \sc \input tufte \stoptext
The PostScript file is here: http://pmrb.free.fr/tmp/test.ps

this one uses lm-ec.enc and looks ok here Hans

Hello Hans, ec-lm.enc is in cont-tmf.zip.
texmfstart newtexexec test --dvips --batch --silent
Gives other errors here... But I've found the solution: In updmap.cfg I had to replace "Map lm.map" by "Map lm-ec.map", now it works. If you agree with that, I can update the wiki (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/TeTeX_3.0_installation). Cheers, Peter -- http://pmrb.free.fr/contact/

Then you have to include the other encoding map files as well (like e.g. lm-texnansi.map and lm-qx.map) The beauty of lm.map was that there was only one file. I guess that file has gone away ?
If you agree with that, I can update the wiki (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/TeTeX_3.0_installation).
Please do that. Thanks, Taco

i think so, because gerben also wondered about lm versus *-lm.map / lm-*.map
If you agree with that, I can update the wiki (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/TeTeX_3.0_installation).
Please do that.
beware: newer contexts have lm-ec.map so you'd best add both files then Hans

Yes, but there is still an old one in the original texmf-tree, and that caused the problem. Cheers, Peter -- http://pmrb.free.fr/contact/

if tetex 3 is indeed is where the problem originates ... go ahead (it may be fixed in the meantime) Hans
