Hi,
Thank you very much for the files: they do have what I need. But where do these these files come from? I have not found them on my installation of TeXLive/ConTeXt or on the TeX Gyre website.
You can easily create your own variants from the otfs that ship with texlive2007. You can use texfont or (for example) otfinstall (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/otfinstall). Patrick
