Hi,
I would like to include an index with Japanese terms, ordered according to the Japanese alphabet.
I can say \index[kanji]{漢字} for an entry under K. For my Japanese index I imagine \index[かんじ]{漢字} to place an entry under か. Is something like this possible?
The Japanese alphabet fits (almost) into a 5x10 table. Depending on the size of the index, it is customary to order an index either by column only (for a smaller index) or by table entry (top-to-bottom, right-to-left). I'd be happy with either, although the smaller one will probably suffice for my purposes...
Any help on how to implement this?
All that is needed is information ... you can have a look in the sort-lan.* files. I also suggest that you check with Dalyoung (haksan@me.com) as he keeps an eye on cjk issues. For instance korean sorting is supported, so japanese should ne possible as well.
