: Dear list,
I want to have the effect I get with \placefigure[margin] but I want it _always_ in the left margin instead of the right margin where it ends up by default. I have tried several other keys but with leftmargin, inleft the figure is not put in the top of the page, "independent of the text". Can I fix this with some setup?
Small test file:
\setupmarginblocks [location=left]
\starttext \input tufte
\placefigure[leftmargin][none]{With the key leftmargin}{\externalfigure[cow][width=1cm]} \input tufte
\placefigure[inleft][none]{With the key inleft}{\externalfigure[cow][width=1cm]} \input tufte
\placefigure[margin][none]{With the key margin}{\externalfigure[cow][width=1cm]} \input tufte % This is the way I want it, but I want it in the left margin instead \stoptext

Thank you very much for your fast reply, Wolfgang. That is what I looked for. However, a new problem appeared now. The example file \setuppapersize[A5][A5] \setuplayout[ footer=0cm, header=0.6cm, headerdistance=0.2cm, footerdistance=0cm, topspace=1cm, backspace=4cm, leftmargin=3cm, rightmargin=0cm, leftmargindistance=0.5cm, height=fit, width=fit, ] \setupmarginblocks[location=left] \starttext \showlayout \placefigure[margin][none]{With the key margin}{\externalfigure[cow][width=3cm]} \input tufte \stoptext does not work as intended for me. The layout looks OK if I read the \showlayout output correctly, but the cow is not put entirely in the margin, but sticks out outside the page. I attach the output of the code above. Best regards, Mikael
