It's not the definition of \yogh that would cause me any difficulty, but the fact that I can't say:

\def\MyHello{Hello!}
\def\defʒ{\MyHello}
\starttext
\defʒ
\stoptext

this works with mkiv (it always worked, as far as I can remember )
