      Hi,

This should work:

  \tabulatesplitlinemode=0 % 1 | 2, default: 1
  % controls the splitting dimensions for lines in ‘p’ mode 
  % 0: do nothing
  % 1: make each line exactly the height and depth of \strut
  % 2: make each line at least the height and depth height of \strut

Undocumented, so likely to change in the next beta ;)

(Untested): Does
\dontleavehmode \framed ....
