I don't know what you mean by "look like." Unable to find documentation of an option or command to embed (likely due to my looking in the wrong documentation), I searched the message archive and found a discussion of embedding fonts with Mark-IV. This led me to believe that fonts may not automatically embedded. After receiving your response, I looked at the properties of the PDF I created and found that the fonts are indeed embedded. I also transferred my PDF to another computer and, even though the PDF includes fonts not on that computer, the proper fonts were displayed. However, in 2-up view, odd-numbered pages display on the left on the other computer where they display on the right on mine. Both systems have Adobe Reader 8.1.2. I haven't found the option to set to get the document to display properly on the other computer. My document was produced by pdfTeX-1.40.9, PDF version 1.5 and opens with Adobe Reader 8.1 or so it says. Is there a way to select a different PDF version (older) to be produced? Some printers I work with want PDFs to be produced to earlier specs. They are embded by default. How does your document look like?
