ConTeXt has to update the number of remaining lines for side floats at the begin each each paragraph but when you start a paragraph in a group, e.g. {\bf ...} to information is lost after the closing brace. When you add now \dontleavehmode before the group starts you flushed to information because the paragraph already started. Wolfgang
