[NTG-context] using font from a specified location

Dear list, I have a bunch of fonts at some location (../myfonts/) relative to TeX files (for example ../myfonts/myfontA.otf). What is the best way to access them in MKIV? The best option might be to specify something equivalent to "export TEXINPUTS=../myfonts", but I don't know what exactly I have to use. (A command like \addtotexinputs or \addtosearchpath[../myfonts].) Alternatively \definefontsynonym[a][file:../myfonts/myfontA.otf] would also be acceptable, though I find it a bit ugly.
