Hoi, In earlier times we had something like \definerule[…][…] and \setuprule[…][…]. This made it possible to create lines of a define width. — So what I found is the fillers, which apparently are not meant for the purpose I am looking for. Kind regards Willi

What mechanism do you mean, fillers are just a high level interface to leaders.
