This is the version I used. I'm on a Mac so I installed Texlive into a Windows VM and compiled the test file. It worked for me: I got a new .pdf looking the way you wanted and also, somewhat unexpectedly, I got *exactly the same* log file output as you have included here.

So I'm confused as to why you're getting the wrong output. The only thing I can suggest is to delete all Context compile files (i.e. .log, .tuc, etc) so you have just the .tex file in the directory and try again. Also, did you install the Texworks editor as well when you installed Texlive? If so then try opening the test file in Texworks, choose "ConTeXt (pdfTeX)" as the engine and run to see if that output is correct. [snip log output from second compile] — Bruce Horrocks Hampshire, UK
