I spot in the log the following message: fonts > typescripts > unknown: library 'lmodern' Does this point to a problem? In good faith I believe I have a fairly standard installation. And in /usr/local/texlive/2012 the TeXlive distribution. Neither adding \setupbodyfont[modern,14pt] nor omitting all \setupbodyfont's changes this. Hans van der Meer
