Thanks to the help I've been getting, I've almost got my layout

footerdistance
settting footerdistance to 0cm doesn't seem to change anything.
there is a strut:
try
\showstruts

By default
\setupfooter[strut=yes]
so put
\setupfooter[strut=no]
Also watch for spurios spaces in \FooBox
