If I decide to use, for instance, "Σ" instead of "\sum", this operator is no longer stretched/scaling regardless of the sub/superscripts specified tot it. Is it possible to keep stretching/scaling while using Inicode characters for such operators?
This is because it's a greek sigma and I'm pretty sure that e.g. Thomas would be surprised to see a math symbol showing up in his greek. You need to use another one: $$\sum\frac{1}{\frac{1}{\frac{1}{\frac{1}{2}}}}$$ $$∑\frac{1}{\frac{1}{\frac{1}{\frac{1}{2}}}}$$ Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | voip: 087 875 68 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------
