yes, a side effect of having multiple note instances and not having adapted the pagebuilder yet

Hans, thanks, this looks a lot better! Nevertheless, one more question: with the example I sent, the "high" setting for footnotes always begins on the page preceding the paragraph where the \setupnote[footnote][location=high] is put into the text. Is there a rule which governs this behavior? Or: haw can I make sure it is indeed applied to one page only? Thanks, and best wishes Thomas
