Can someone explain to me what this is? If it is downloaded and unzipped, is it ready to go? Is there documentation of this particular zip? Is there an editor in this zip configured and ready to go?

I'm using it. You just need to install Perl and Ruby. Take a look at: http://www.ntg.nl/pipermail/ntg-context/2005/014223.html If you had instaled Miktex on Windows before you should note that you might need to take Miktex from your PATH. I had to do it. Miguel Queirós
