I think you can include the texts in an \hbox and use \wd?? to get its width

Is there a ConTeXt equivalent to LaTeX \settowidth{}, or better still some macro I can do things like
\setupsomething[ ... width={\widthof{\bf sometext\emspace}}, ...]
