I tried that and it has no effect. I also found this article here:

...which suggests using
\setuphead[chapter][align={flushleft, nothyphenated, verytolerant}]
...but that makes no difference either. My chapter titles continue to run off the page to the right. I am happy to post an example somewhere if that helps.
Use also the “broad” keyword for align which makes ConTeXt more tolerant to break the line with ragged text. \setuphead[chapter][style=\ssbfc,alternative=inmargin, align={flushleft,broad,nothyphenated}] \starttext \chapter{Technical Definitions, Acronyms and Abbreviations} \stoptext Wolfgang
