I also have crashes on some pdf files, but I think that the pdf converter is not yet ok

(you can try qpdf and the utils form poppler , they should work on ubuntu wsl in windows10; also ghostscript should be ok) .

The interesting thing in 1.14 is mupdf-gl which for the first time has has a (terse and no native) common UI .
