In PDF it’s possible, I don’t know about MP/ConTeXt. Did you check (e.g. with Acrobat Pro) if your "Black" is indeed a spot color? You may send me your PDF off-list. Did you try defining your spot color with RGB values? (I remember I needed that for something...) Greetlings from Lake Constance!
