Hi, Here is what I think functional ConTeXt code should look like: %\enabletrackers[font*] \definefontfeature [burmese] [script=mym2,mode=node,locl=yes,abvs=yes,blwf=yes,blws=yes] % thats all the features the font has. % there is some weirdness with the script (mym2 instead of mymr) % and perhaps languages (dflt, MON , KSW ) making % that even otfinfo does not recognize the features. \definefont[burmeseFont][file:NotoSerifMyanmar-Regular.ttf*burmese] \starttext Test {\burmeseFont တော်ကြီး} foo. \stoptext Output does not look right, no. Perhaps ConTeXt needs to add a definition for the mym2 script? Best wishes, Taco

honestly, I do know almost nothing about ConTeXt. My sincere apologies. The answer https://tug.org/pipermail/lualatex-dev/2018-September/001681.html on my request https://tug.org/pipermail/lualatex-dev/2018-August/001680.html implies that this mailing list might be the right spot for my initial problem.
Here is the initial problem: The following MWE renders correctly in XeLaTeX but not in LuaLaTeX and illustrates the problem.
\documentclass{memoir} \usepackage{fontspec} \newfontfamily{\burmeseFamily}{NotoSerifMyanmar-Regular.ttf}[Scale=MatchLowercase] \begin{document} Test {\burmeseFamily{}တော်ကြီး} foo. \end{document}
Thank you very much for taking your time.
