You can always install the latest standalone version beside TeX Live. They are totally independent. I had both TeX Live and ConTeXt Standalone. After I installed a new version of Linux, I didn’t have the need to reinstall TeX Live ;-). Just in case it helps, Pablo -- http://www.ousia.tk
