Times math should work in mkii, but I don't know if you are able to use it or not or if you really need some MKIV features. You may try the font created by Khaled or Cambria Math. Fixing italic latin letters in txmath should not be too difficult, but it nevertheless takes some work and it's not ready yet. Mojca
