I have done texhash texexec --make --all --xtx texexec --make --all --pdftex

That's normal. If you use plain rsync commands, you need to regenerate the formats anyway. If you're using the (still a bit too primitive) first-setup.sh, then you need to use --make switch (but I guess that it already uses it by default unless you have removed it). Mojca
