Hi all,
(cc-ing the usual suspects)
I have created test versions of ConTeXt 2007.08.09, if you can give it a
try:
context
deb http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ context/
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ context/
On sid this should be no problem, for etch you need
texlive and tex-common
deb http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ tl2007/
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ tl2007/
lmodern
deb http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ lmodern/
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ lmodern/
If you want to test the new context/luatex functionality you should also
get the latest luatex package:
luatex
deb http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ luatex/
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ luatex/
(which is 0.10.2-2). It has already been uploaded to Debian but has to
go through the NEW queue (which usually takes some time). Sorry NO etch
version for now for luatex, I have to adapt the poppler patch first.
I run several documents with the new context and it worked. Please
report your success/failure to me, thanks a lot.
Especially one with a bit of experience could test luatex/context
combination, that would be great.
Best wishes
Norbert

Dr. Norbert Preining
I just installed your context* packages on my Ubuntu (7.04) system, and they run fine. I didn't upgrade the texlive packages because I'm scared about the poppler API (0.5.4 vs 0.5.8 vs 0.5.9). I'm sure there's a way to do it right, which may involve back or forward-porting, but I'd have to think about it for a while, so I am letting that sleeping dog lie. That said, the new context packages run fine. I tested them on my usual documents and a newer ones. The tests are a 100-page math textbook and electrical engineering course notes for this semester. Both documents have many included figures (made by metapost), and all is well. -Sanjoy 'Intellectual property is intellectual theft.'
