Hi Taco,
could you implement the expansion of ~ to
$HOME for unix
and to
%USERPROFILE% for win32
as done in the current kpathsea library? Or do you plan to incorporate
the new version of kpathsea?
I ask because currently I have to hack around that quite a bit in the
TeX Live installer and support programs to make it work equally on win32
and unix.

TRUNK already has a recent kpathsea from texlive, but no standalone release uses that yet. However, the luatex sources inside of texlive should do this already, ismply because of residing inside texlive's source tree. Best wishes, Taco

Good, thanks. So next luatex release will have it, and if I grab a
current luatex from Akira's binaries for now it will do it, too.
