A simple answer is that the standalone distribution is organized so that one can keep a full copy per project or per period, thus assuring that one retains a fully functional version independent of rapid development.

I'm sorry, but that does not answer my question. Can I install a version from a certain date (à la version control), and if so, how? /Lars
