but is there no way to prevent io.h from defining eof() via gcc the command line? out of jokes: there is a NO_OLDNAMES
but using -DNO_OLDNAMES creates several other problems
Sure, probably some #define dup _dup will be needed then. But it is still the cleanest solution, as it requires no changes to external header files. Best wishes, Taco
