let \latelua live in leaders
Oh, incidentally \write (and likely other whatsits) in leaders are suppressed in TeX in order not be able to figure out glue setting decisions without reverting to DVI or log file.
Since LuaTeX offers about a gazillion options to arrive at that info (and to have FP-dependent typesetting decisions elsewhere), it probably makes not much sense to maintain this. If ever it did.
actually, control over writes (and such) can be made more clever (was discussed at some point but postponed); for instance, when toc entries are in a box, one might want to suppress them in a \copy; okay, this can be dealt with using macros, but in general a bit more control does not hurt (low priority stuff) Hans ----------------------------------------------------------------- Hans Hagen | PRAGMA ADE Ridderstraat 27 | 8061 GH Hasselt | The Netherlands tel: 038 477 53 69 | fax: 038 477 53 74 | www.pragma-ade.com | www.pragma-pod.nl -----------------------------------------------------------------
