Hi all, Following yesterday's beta release there were immediately a few serious bugs reported (thank you, testers) so it made sense to do a new beta release a.s.a.p. So, I have just uploaded metapost 1.091. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- What is new in MetaPost beta version 1.091: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- * Dash lists were interfaced incorrectly by the lua bindings. * The Type 1 Font inclusion in the previous version produced invalid subsets. * The configure script now also checks for sys/time.h * The error message you get for invalid mem files now mentions the name of the file as well as the nature of the problem. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can get the sources and a cross-compiled mingw binary for Win32 from the usual place: http://foundry.supelec.fr/frs/?group_id=13&release_id=311 Have fun, Taco -- http://tug.org/metapost/
Sorry, I tried the new 1.091 version, but didn't get any result: (Fatal mem file error; c:/TeXlive/texmf-var/web2c/mpost.mem appears not to be a mem file) The mem file was succesfuly created (I would expect not "preloading the plain mem file" but plain.mp file:-) This is MetaPost, version 1.091 (kpathsea version 3.5.7) (INIMP) 19 JUL 2008 22:46 **mpost.ini (c:/TeXlive/texmf-dist/metapost/config/mpost.ini (c:/TeXlive/texmf-dist/metapost/base/plain.mp Preloading the plain mem file, version 0.99) ) Beginning to dump on file mpost.mem (mem=mpost 2008.07.19) at most 736 strings of total length 3629 3317 memory locations dumped; current usage is 1012&2227 501 symbolic tokens Karel Horak

Argh. Thanks for testing so quickly. The error was so silly that I have not updated the version number but simply regenerated the archive files only, I hope nobody will mind that. Sorry for the messup, Taco
