I'm doing a little more work on XeTeX/ConTeXt, and noticed these lines introduced in the alpha version, which don't properly guard against \undefineds... \ifnum\etexversion<202 \prependtoks \writestatus\m!systems{eTeX version \number\etexversion\space -> too old (bugs) }% \writeline \to \everyjob \fi \ifnum\number\pdftexversion<120 \prependtoks \writestatus\m!systems{pdfTeX version \number\pdftexversion\space -> please upd ate}% \writeline \to \everyjob \fi XeTeX doesn't like \pdftexversion, and it took me a while to realise it wasn't my fault! adam -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Adam T.
