Hi out there, I am struggling with the current ConTeXt installation on garden. I have installed the archive in /opt/context/<date>/.... and generated the format file into web2c/cont-en.fmt and alike. When I run perl /opt/tetex/current/texmf/scripts/context/perl/texexec.pl hello.tex pdfTeX uses the installed format files, when running texexec hello.tex (/opt/context/current/bin/texexec) new format files get generated by (?) and put into /var/tmp/tetex3/texmf-sysvar Both variables: TEXMFSYSVAR, TEXMFVAR poin to this directory (is this a sensible configuration?) The output begins with: -------------------------------------------------- TeXExec 5.3.2 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2005 fixing texformat path : .:{!!/var/tmp/tetex3/texmf-config,!!/var/tmp/tetex3/texmf-sysvar,!!/var/tmp/tetex3/texmf-sysconfig,!!/var/tmp/tetex3/texmf-sysvar,!!/opt/local/texmf,!!/opt/local/lmr/texmf,!!/opt/context/current/texmf,!!/opt/tetex/3.0/texmf,!!/opt/tetex/3.0/texmf-dist}/web2c/{$ENGINE,} 0 executable : pdfetex format : cont-en inputfile : hello output : standard interface : en current mode : none TeX run : 1 This is pdfeTeX, Version 3.141592-1.21a-2.2 (Web2C 7.5.4) (/opt/context/current/texmf/web2c/natural.tcx) kpathsea: Running mktexfmt cont-en.fmt fmtutil: running `pdfetex -ini -jobname=cont-en -progname=context -translate-file=cp227.tcx *cont-en.ini' ... -------------------------------------------------- The $PATH is: /opt/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/opt/context/current/bin:/opt/tetex/current/bin/i686-pc-linux-gnu/ I just see that Adam has a similar problem. Any clue how to make texexec from the current ConTeXt distribution use my format files? Patrick -- ConTeXt wiki and more: http://contextgarden.net
A follow-up [...] when I remove in texexec the lines where this happens....

everything seems to work fine. Except for (next mail). Patrick -- ConTeXt wiki and more: http://contextgarden.net
