Hi all!
Some news concerning the backports of TeX Live 2007 Debian packages to
etch. I have stopped to provide my own binaries and switched to using
www.backports.org. Advantage of that is that we will have uptodate
binaries for all different architectures, not only for those I manage to
compile for or ask someone to compile for.
For you that means:
- the installation source for texlive-bin has changed, please see
http://www.backports.org/dokuwiki/doku.php?id=instructions
on how to use the backports service. In a nut shell:
. add
deb http://www.backports.org/debian etch-backports main
to your /etc/apt/source.list
. call aptitude update
. install any package with
aptitude -t etch-backports install texlive-base-bin ....
- all arch = all packages (i.e., all the others) can be either taken
from the testing repository with pinning (see again the above page
for detailed descriptions), but I will continue to have them
around in my repository on people.debian.org.
So to some the situation up:
texlive and tex-common
deb http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ tl2007/
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ src/
texlive-bin
deb http://www.backports.org/debian etch-backports main
deb-src http://www.backports.org/debian etch-backports main
(but the source is also available from the above location)
lmodern
deb http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ lmodern/
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ lmodern/
context
deb http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ context/
deb-src http://people.debian.org/~preining/TeX/ context/
The package has been accepted into backports.org only today, so
currently there are only i386 binaries, but soon there should be all the
other archs, too.
I hope that this service integrates better into the normal backport
world most people are using.
If you have any questions, just let me know.
Best wishes
Norbert
