Well, for that to work you have to relax the settings at least to 'r(estricted)' from the default 'p(aranoid)'. Otherwise files with names starting with '../' are not opened anyway.
i cc to olaf, maybe there is a fix possible i.e. just not issue the message when there is an openin (when no writing is involved anyway)
